Kate had qualified for the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle finals after finishing 5th and 9th, respectively, in the Ulster Championships. She finished in 10th in freestyle and 11th in breaststroke today in Galway, competing against the best in Ireland. Daniel qualified for the 50m fly after finishing 5th in the Ulster Championships and then went on to a close 2nd place finish in 50m freestyle in the Ulsters. Daniel was in top form in Galway and qualified for the butterfly finals today but decided to opt out and save himself for the freestyle heats. He performed well and finished seeded 3rd for freestyle finals and went on to finish FIRST IN THE FINALS!!! Details of times will follow. We are all so proud of Kate and Daniel for their enthusiasm and talent in the pool. Daniel may even be Lecale's first Irish Champion. Watch this space for more news of these very talented swimmers! More news today, Lecale swam away against Limavady in their third Forest Feast Aquasprint meet of the sesaon. Missing a couple of star swimmers (see above!), Lecale swam really well and there were lots of tight finishes but we were beaten by a stronger team. PB results may be viewed here. FINAL NOTE: NO TRAINING TOMORROW (SUN 10TH MARCH) AS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE POOL. Click link below to view the latest Swim Ireland newsletter.
