Last Saturday Lecale Swimming Club met Kilkeel Swimming Club in their second meet of the Belfast Telegraph’s Teletots League.
Our thirty-seven strong squad pulled off a superb 23 x 1st places, 22 x 2nd places and 17 x 3rd places with the U9s and U 11s achieving the most points for the team. The entire team performed well and gave their best with commendable sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
There were consistently strong performances from U9: Chloe Galloway, Laura Molloy, Niamh Masterson, Fionn McConvey, Aaron Cooper and Aidan McCauley, U10: Thomas Fitzsimons, Jamie Black, Niamh Corrigan and Katie Lundy, U11: Megan Rodgers, Amy Godfrey, Daniel Molloy, James Mahoney and Niall George and U 12: Oisin McConvey, Richard Cleave and Lucy Prenter.
Teletot's newcomers Orla Martin, Alex Cromie, Kate McCauley, Orlaith Brennan, Ciaran Cairns, Tom Rodgers and Jamie Black all swam well and helped make up a great Lecale team. Their efforts weren’t in vain as final scores showed Lecale with 215 points against Kilkeel’s 185.
Lecale ASC wishes to thank all the swimmers for their contribution to the team’s success and excellent behaviour at this meet. Many thanks to the parents and volunteers who helped out on the day. Finally thank you to Kilkeel SC for a great meet and post-swim refreshments and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
