We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Gerard Bryce. Gerard was a former coach in the club during the 1990's. On behalf of everyone associated with Lecale ASC the Committee would like to extend its deepest sympathy and condolences to Gerard's children Sean, Conor and Carmen, and to his wider family and friends.

We have taken the decision to cancel training tomorrow night (Monday October 16th) due to the severe weather warnings due to storm Ophelia. Normal training arrangements will apply for the rest of the week.
Everyone stay safe. Last weekend seen 8 Lecale swimmers compete at the Swim Ulster Autumn Qualifying Gala in Lisburn. Aaron, Adam, Isla, Jamie, Joe, Olivia, Philip and Rebecca have all achieved qualifying times in previous meets to swim at this higher level of competition. As usual our swimmers didn’t disappoint.
Over the course of 2 days each Lecale swimmer went home with at least one top 10 finish. We also seen plenty of PB’s, swimmers narrowly missing out on medals with 4th place finishes (Aaron, Joe and Olivia) and medals for Aaron (2 bronze) and Adam (2 gold) as well. Below is a selection of photos from a great weekend of swimming. Gala squad swimmers aged 9-11 might be interested in entering the Bangor Minors Open Meet on Sunday November 5th in Bangor. Congratulations to the PTL squad who last night secured their first win of the season away from home to Dungannon. Led by our Club Captains, Aaron and Katie (pictured below), our Lecale swimmers produced some fantastic swims with some very tight finishes to secure the victory. Many thanks to Dungannon for both a friendly and competitive gala and we wish them the best for the remainder of the season.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Well done to the 5 Lecale swimmers who early on Saturday morning travelled to Omagh to compete in the first of this seasons Swim Ulster Development Meets. Between them Aidan M, Adam M, Amy, Bebhionn and Christopher competed in a total of 17 events, picking up a total of 7 medals and 8 PB’s. Each and every swimmer went home with at least one new PB with Amy and Christopher narrowly missed out on medal positions picking up 4th places in some events. Aidan, Adam and Bebhionn had great swims, each going home with medals. Aidan took home a gold and silver, Adam took 2 golds and a silver whilst Bebhionn picked up a silver and bronze place. It was a fantastic performance from all these Lecale swimmers and a great start to the new competitive season.
