Last night we saw some great swims, particularly from the Development squads, and lots of PBs across the board. Wonderful to see the progress over the past few months of training. Again, thank you to everyone who helped with timekeeping and marshalling.

Well done to Cara, Rebecca, Adam, Mark, Daniel, Tom and Philip on super swims at the final Swim Ulster Development meet of the season. Daniel swam the 100 IM for the first time setting a time of 2:00.91. Mark made a huge improvement on his IM from June, setting a new PB of 1:47.00 and swam the 100 backstroke for the first time in 1:48.73. Cara paced the 200 freestyle well and finished 3rd in 3:11.54 and, despite a goggle problem in the last 75m, Rebecca set a time of 3:24.99. Adam started the morning with gold in the 100 IM in 1:27.92 and finished with gold in the 100 back in 1:26.54 (Irish Division 2 standard for 9-11).
The afternoon session showed continuing improvements from both Philip and Tom. Tom took another 6sec off his 200 IM, finishing 4th in 3:11.95, and Philip took off 11sec to finish 5th in 3:18.82. Tom shaved another couple of seconds off his 100 free time to finish 5th in 1:15.92 and Philip finished 7th in 1:20.60, a bit outside his best. |
