CHRISTMAS FUN NIGHT 2014

Well done to all our swimmers who took part in the Christmas Sprints tonight. A lively atmosphere thanks to DJ Burke who kept us all in the seasonal spirit with his tunes and of course lots of PBs in the pool! Click here for the results. A big thank you to the seniors who helped out on poolside and in the water.

It was great to see a big turnout from the seniors for the relay events. Great team spirit, fun and a fair amount of cheating too! The 'Santas' were unbeatable but the Elves, Reindeers, Snowmen, Grinches all put up a good fight.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas break and look forward to seeing you back at training on 2nd January.

IRISH SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014, LISBURN

Nothing on this weekend? Why not call in and see the BEST swimmers in Ireland compete at the Irish Short Course Championships in Lisburn (Fri 12th-Sun 14th Dec)? Conor Ferguson, Curtis Coulter, Grainne Murphy, Bethy Firth and Bethany Carson and many more. Watch out for 13 year old sensation Antoinette Neamt from Tallagh SC who is seeded just behind adult Olympians Bethany Carson in 200 free and 200 IM and just behind Grainne Murphy in 400 and 800 free.

Heats are 9.30am-1.00pm and Finals are from 5.30pm-8.00pm (Sunday finals 4.30pm-8.30pm)

HAVING FUN AT DEVELOPMENT MEET 2, BALLYMENA

Lecale started the day with a silver medal for Cara in 200 free this morning and 7th and 8th place finishes for Kate in 200 free and 100 fly. Afternoon session brought another medal for Cara in the 100 breaststroke and Jamie, Tom, Megan, Laura, Ruby and Adam all added to Lecale's medal haul. Adam achieved a huge PB in 100 free with a time of 1:22, minus 15 seconds from his June time. Philip, Mark and Rebecca had great PBs in their events. Philip had competed in the 100 free just last month but with a good dive and slick turns he took a whopping 8 seconds off his time today to finish in 1:16. Rebecca exceeded her coach's expectations and finished her 100 breast in 1:52 and Mark set a new 100 free PB of 1:42, taking 15 seconds off his time from June.

So, a great showing from Lecale all round, happy children and tired parents. Click here for full results. Thanks to all the parents who helped with lifts, marshalling and timekeeping in the afternoon session.

All entires must be submitted to Oonagh via the form on the webpage by Wednesday 17th December and all entry fees paid by Friday 19th December. No late entries can be accepted by Oonagh over the holidays however, where space permits, Bangor SC may accept entries on the day.
