New club captains
For 2016-17, as part of our efforts to ensure we can hear the ideas and opinions of our young members, we are going to trial the election of club captains. There is lots of information in the "club captains" pages about the role and how the nomination process will work - just follow the links or click on the "About Lecale ASC" link to the left to access these.
Nominate your club captains!
Any two young members can nominate the senior boy and the senior girl they would most like to represent them as club captain. You need the person’s agreement and they need the approval of their parent/guardian. There is more information on the nomination form. You can download the form here. We'll have some forms available too at the desk next Friday night too. We really want our young members to take part in this process,
Stand for election!
If you’re a senior swimmer and would like to be considered for club captain, you need to meet the eligibility requirements and be nominated by two of your club mates – they just have to fill in a form which you and your parent/guardian also have to sign. You don’t have to be the fastest swimmer to take part – or even a member of the gala squad – any eligible swimmer willing to carry out the role can put their name forward.
Vote for your captains!
Unless there is only one nominee for each position (girls’ captain and boys’ captain) our swimmers of all ages (u18) will get to decide who will be our first elected Lecale club captains – so make sure you’re at training on Friday 10 June 2016 – election night (and also a club championship night)! Make sure you take part – your vote counts!
We will announce the results at the AGM on Friday 24 June 2016.
What a result and what a gala Saturday proved to be when Lecale swimmers competed against Ballymena!
