So, many thanks to Swilly Seals for a very warm welcome and friendly meet which demanded the best from our swimmers and we we wish them well in the remainder of the season.
Lecale's final PTL challenge took place last night against a very strong Swilly Seals team in Letterkenny. Lecale swimmers performed extremely well given the long coach trip and fought for every point but the Seals, comfortable in home waters, proved too big a challenge on the night. Full results are available here and PB results will follow shortly. Final scores were Lecale 539 to Swilly Seals 603.

It was a busy weekend for Lecale swimmers at the three-day Swim Ulster Spring Qualifying Meet.
Aaron, Amy, Chloe, Conor, Daniel, Daniel, Isla, Jamie and Megan had all done very well just to meet the standards for this event and represented their club and supported one another very effectively at a packed Aurora Aquatics Centre in Bangor. Daniel Mulholland was in great form, picking up 4 golds in the 100, 200, 400 and 800 freestyle events. Daniel Molloy also bagged a gold medal (50 back) and 2 silvers (200 back and 200 IM) while Megan picked up a gold in the 200 breast. Also coming home with medals were Conor (silver in 100 fly) and Amy (silver in 50 free). Of course, securing improvement in personal best times was also a major objective and the team was not found wanting. Jamie and Conor had a full sweep of PBs in their events with Isla taking almost 5 seconds off her 100 breast time and Chloe improving even further her existing Division 2 times in 100 back and 100 free. Lecale swimmers Amy, Ruby, Daniel, Cara, Adam, Jack and Mark joined the best young swimming talent on the island today to represent their schools at the Irish Minor Schools Championships in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin.
Ruby swam a great 50 breast despite being unwell all week and Mark got a new PB in his 50 back. Cara, Amy and Jack all made it to the finals in their events and achieved excellent times. Daniel Mulholland won bronze in his 50m freestyle final and Adam Colgan is now the Irish Schools Champion in 50 backstroke, winning gold in 40.62sec. Adam also won bronze in 50 free. There'll be plenty to write in the school news books tomorrow! Click here for full results. We all knew that Jon really was pretty cool, now here's the proof...
